Nick started working in the construction industry during summer vacations while in school. His interest was inevitable, it's in the family. He is a fourth generation builder, following his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather before him. Nick worked for several contractors and learned many skills. Notably, he framed for a high-end, custom homebuilder, where he learned the best practices across the trades from exceptional contractors. Watching closely, he learned the importance of communication, planning and a systematic approach to construction projects. Knowing he would one day own a business of the same caliber, he began acquiring the best practices of project management, processes, and workflow.

Like the generations before him, Nick developed a company that allows him to do what he loves, while bringing his knowledge, expertise, and craftsmanship to families in our community. 

Michelle came on board initially as a project coordinator. As time went on, she found herself becoming more immersed in the company as a designer, and eventually took on the role of head designer. Clients were drawn to Michelle because of her confidence and unique eye, and this became a trademark for Heartwood Residential. In Nick’s words, “our company’s professionalism and success is because of Michelle.” Not only is she versed in all things design, but her work ethic and thoroughness is truly what made the business thrive. Nick and Michelle are a powerhouse duo, and they each play key roles in why Heartwood Residential maintains its authenticity.

​​As life evolved, Michelle made the heartfelt decision to step back from her role as head designer to embrace her new journey as a mom of three. While this shift allowed her to focus on family, her impact on Heartwood Residential remains. Michelle continues to play a pivotal role behind the scenes, providing valuable support to Nick and the team. Her design insights and deep understanding of the company’s vision still guide many aspects of the business. Together, they embody a perfect balance of family and entrepreneurship, proving that their partnership extends beyond the office and into every project they undertake.
